There are more than one billion machines worldwide running different versions of Microsoft Windows. The growth of the operating system has been increasing since Windows 11 started entering the market.
However, not everyone can upgrade to the latest version of Windows. This is because many older computers do not meet the minimum requirements for installing Windows 11.
But, many people do not have a compatible PC, so they tend to use unofficial copies of the operating system. However, the risk of personal and financial information being hijacked is increasing.
If your PC does not support Windows 11, it would be wise to buy a new PC. However, you should refrain from using unofficial installers from fake websites or links.
HP’s Threat Research team has found a domain that has been created by copying Microsoft’s website. This website contains a lot of malicious code in the Windows-Upgraded.com domain.
When you download Windows 11 installer from the site, a zip file is downloaded. In fact, it is not a Windows 11 installer. It contains malicious malware called Redline. With which cyber criminals steal personal information, browser cookies, banking information and cryptocurrency wallet data.
