Railway authorities have started selling 50 percent tickets of the capacity from Wednesday evening. Half of which is being sold online. However, advance tickets of January 15 are being sold. Along with the mobile app, tickets are being reserved from the website of e-sheba CNSBD .
According to the new instructions, the sale of tickets online will be normal through the system upgrade by keeping the online service closed on Tuesday, said the Deputy Director of Bangladesh Railway (TC) Md. Nahid Hasan Khan.
He said that as per the government guidelines, half of the reduced number of seats i.e., 25% of the total number of seats are being issued through ticket counters and 25% of the remaining seats are being issued through mobile app / online.
Meanwhile, netizens have been barred from accessing the web addresses of city corporations, including online train ticketing platforms, since noon on Tuesday (January 11). Websites have reportedly showed ‘502 Bad Gateway’ due to server maintenance work at the National Data Center. However, Adnan Faisal, a communications and media outreach consultant at a2i, which oversees the government web portal, said the problem was resolved overnight. He said “There was a problem in one cluster. However, it was fixed by 9 pm last night. I checked. Now there is no problem anymore.”
