After October, Apple’s iPhone was at the top of smartphone sales in China in November too. Apple’s share of the Chinese market was 23.6 percent in November, up from 22 percent in the previous month, according to Phone Arena, citing Counterpoint Research.
According to the research firm, Vivo was in second place in smartphone sales with a share of 17.8 percent.
Counterpoint thinks that the popularity of the iPhone 13 is one of the reasons for Apple’s rise to the top in the Chinese market. At almost the same price as the iPhone 12 series, the new iPhone series offers many benefits, including improved photography features and longer battery life.
Also in November was China’s ‘Single Day’, which is celebrated in other countries as Black Friday. The country’s popular e-commerce platform, JD.com, topped the list of top 10 new and old iPhone models for sale on November 11, the single day.
However, Apple will not have this strong position in China for long. Counterpoint expects iPhone sales in China to decline in early December or early January if Chinese iPhone users stop upgrading their older iOS-based handsets. As a result, sales may vary as of December.
