On Wednesday (December 15), the Telecom minister Mostafa Jabbar virtually attended a discussion meeting and prize giving ceremony on account of Mujib Centenary and the golden jubilee of the independence of Bangladesh organized by the Department of Posts and Telecommunications and delivered his remarks.
The minister said that the successors of Pakistani accomplices are still plotting against Bangladesh at home and abroad. Conspiracies continue inside and outside the country to repeat the catastrophic events of Nineteen seventy-five.
Mentioning that all forces should be vigilant against these conspirators, the Minister said that the people of this country have fought with whatever they had under the direction of Bangabandhu, the minister mentioned.
Md. Khalilur Rahman, Secretary, Department of Posts and Telecommunications, spoke on the occasion as a special guest.
Director General of Telecommunications Department Md. Kamruzzaman presided over the function. Director General of Postal Department Md. Siraj Uddin, Managing Director of BTCL Dr. Rafiqul Matin, Mashiur Rahman, Managing Director, Submarine Cable Company Limited and Muhammad Abdul Hannan, Joint Secretary, Posts and Telecommunications delivered their speeches on the occasion. Engineer Md. Abu Taleb, General Manager, Department of Telecommunications and President, BCS Telecom Cadre Association presented the keynote address at the event.
The Minister called upon all the departments and agencies under the Department of Posts and Telecommunications to work with more sincerity and efficiency to further accelerate the ongoing progress in establishing a digital technology dependent Bangladesh. Mostafa Jabbar, a pioneer in the development of digital technology, said: We have kept the normal life journey going through digital connectivity. We have to work to take Bangladesh to a unique height through 5G technology.
Mostafa Jabbar, a pioneer of digital transformation in education, looked into the eyes of children and saw the future of Bangladesh. Mr. Mostafa Jabbar, a heroic freedom fighter, said that every citizen has fought directly and indirectly except some Pakistani comrades Razakar and Al-Badr Al-Shams. The mothers of this country have given food and shelter to the freedom fighters without even eating it themselves. He also mentioned that they should be recognized as indirect fighters. Highlighting the historic declaration of independence of Bangabandhu through telegram message on the night of March 25, he said, “We did not hear the voice of Bangabandhu but we fought in his name, following his instructions.” We have dealt with the enemy with whatever we had.
In his speech as special guest, the Secretary for Posts and Telecommunications cited, while inspecting the missionary school in the then Gopalganj subdivision, Hossain Shaheed Suhrawardy noticed Bangabandhu. He became the leader of the nation due to his ability and leadership, his genuine love for the people. He noted that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had acquired leadership qualities from her father. “We will be successful if we can properly discharge the responsibilities entrusted to us from our respective positions,” he said. If we succeed, the nation will succeed.
