Technology giant Google has issued a warning to lay off employees if they do not comply with Corona’s vaccination rules. CNBC reported this on Tuesday quoting Google’s internal documents.
Google’s top leadership has circulated a memo inside the company, according to a media report. The memo states that Google employees must announce their vaccination information by December 3.
As part of this process, workers must show proof of vaccination. For that they need to upload the vaccination document. And if any worker wants a waiver from getting vaccinated for medical or religious reasons, they have to apply for it.
Google says it will begin institutional contact with employees who do not upload their vaccination information or fail to receive the vaccine by the deadline. In addition, the organization will also contact the employees whose request for exemption from vaccination will not be approved.
Google employees who fail to comply with the institutional rules on vaccination by January 18 will first be sent on 30 days paid administrative leave. They will then be kept on private leave without pay for up to six months. Eventually they will be fired.
Reuters contacted Google to find out about the CNBC report. But Google has not commented directly on the matter.
But Google says it is committed to doing everything possible to help its employees get vaccinated. They strongly support their policy.
