Today’s transformation of Bangladesh is a surprise to the world, said the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Mostafa Jabbar. He said, “It would not have been possible for us to survive the war if all the people of the country had not stayed with us and provided us with food and shelter. Once the freedom fighters were absconding in this country and it was stopped by the daughter of Bangabandhu. Today’s transformation of Bangladesh is a surprise to the world.”
In order to prevent our liberation war from being identified as a separatist movement, Bangabandhu has accelerated the freedom struggle by turning it into a people’s war for twenty three long years. The minister also mentioned that the Bengalis got a Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, which was a blessing for the Bengalis.
He said this while addressing a function at the Postal Departmental Meeting Room (Dhaka GPO) on Saturday (November 27) afternoon to honor the heroic freedom fighters who were awarded the Golden Jubilee of Independence.
Golam Dastagir Gazi, Bir Pratik, Mahbub Uddin Ahmed, Bir Bikram and Masroor-ul Haq Siddiqui Bir Uttam were honored at the function.
On the occasion, Textile and Jute Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi, Bir Pratik, a member of the crack platoon in the city of Dhaka, set fire to the power station in Rampura’s Ulun as a member of the War of Liberation War. But after seventy-five, there was a time when we had to flee.
Mahbub Uddin Ahmed, Bir Bikram and Masroor-ul-Siddiqui narrated their various thrilling operations against the Pakistani forces during the war. They also said that the entire population of Bangladesh had fought except for a few identified Razakars, Albadars and Alshams. They also gave details of how the people helped in the liberation war. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Habibul Alam, President of the program, expressed his gratitude to the Department of Posts and the Department of Posts and Telecommunication for presenting the history of Mujib Centenary and the Golden Jubilee of Independence through postage stamps.
