State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak expressed his happy feeling in comparing the services and infrastructure of Digital Bangladesh with Europe, America, Japan, China and South Korea now due to the development of information technology in the country. This time, every school and government office in the village will be connected to broadband internet. All kinds of technology services will reach remote islands.
Elaborating on these plans, he remarked that underdeveloped Bangladesh, which had lagged behind in the last 12 years due to digital benefits of the government’s visionary plan, has now become Bangabandhu’s non-discriminatory golden Bangladesh.
Such an expression came up in Palak’s voice in the press conference organized on the occasion of the Silver Jubilee Conference of World Information Technology with the participation of 85 countries of the world. The state minister expressed his determination to highlight the unspoken words of Digital Bangladesh in this conference.
Palak remarked that underdeveloped Bangladesh, which had lagged behind for only 12 years due to the visionary plan of the government, has now become Bangabandhu’s non-discrimination golden Bangladesh.
The conference will be jointly organized by Bangladesh Computer Society, Bangladesh Computer Council and Department of Information and Communication Technology at Bangabandhu International Conference Center from 11 to 14 November.
Senior Secretary NM Zeaul Alam, the executive director of the Computer Council Abdul Mannan, BCS President Shahid Ul Munir spoke at the press conference.
WITSA Secretary General James H. Poissant spoke being connected online.
It was informed at the press conference that the 4-day conference will have 30 seminars, ministerial conferences and B2B sessions. Vinton Glesurf and Robert Kahn, one of the fathers of the modern Internet, will be present at the seminar. With them, Radia Perman and Sir Timothy Berners-Lee, the inventor of the World Wide Web will be connected. Omar S. Ishraq, Chairman, Intel Corporation, and Doug Comstock, Deputy CFO, Agency and Performance at NASA Headquarters, will deliver the keynote address at the seminar. New York City Mayor’s Office Commissioner Victor Kallis will speak on the future of smart cities, especially for the people with special needs.
Billel Jamousi of the Department of Chief Study Groups of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) will speak there. President of the IMD Smart City Observatory Bruno Panvin will take part in a seminar. In addition, different speakers from different parts of the world will be connected to multiple seminars online.
