Given the current context, the BTRC has suspended the issuance of a new Nationwide Telecommunication Transmission Network or NTTN license.
The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission said no new companies would be licensed until further notice. At the same time, BTRC has requested not to lodge any application for NTTN license in this context.
According to the NTTN guidelines, 06 (six) companies in the country already have NTTN licenses.
BTRC has issued NTTN licenses to 6 companies from 2009 to date. The companies are Fiber at Home, Summit Communications Limited, Bangladesh Railway, Power Grid Company of Bangladesh Limited, BTCL and Bahan Limited. The last time BTRC issued an NTTN license to Bahan Limited was in December 2019.
