As many as 82 students have been sentenced to various terms including permanent expulsion of two students for admission in Dhaka University through digital fraud and illegal means.
Monday (September 26) The decision was taken at a meeting of the university’s disciplinary council chaired by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Md. Akhtaruzzaman.
Permanently expelled declared from the meeting are Md. Rakib Hasan, enrolled in the Department of Accounting and Information Systems for the 2017-2018 academic year and and Ishraq Hossain Rafi, a student of the same year in the Department of Geology.
Besides, Md. Akhtarul Karim Rubel, a student of Bangla department of Dhaka University in the academic year 2014-2015 was accused of being involved in anti-law activities. The decision to temporarily expel was taken at the same meeting. With the opportunity to defend himself, it has been decided to give a show cause notice as to ‘why he should not be expelled permanently’.
The issue of permanent expulsions will be presented at the next syndicate meeting.
