A digital book has been published on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of George Harrison’s historical music on the Liberation War of Bangladesh with his album ‘Concert for Bangladesh’. The book was published by Apex Data Mining and IT under the management of ICE Department’s Idea Project. The coffee table book named ‘The country that lived – Fifty Years of Freedom and the Concert for Bangladesh’ will now be available on mobile and desktop. State Minister for ICT Junaid Ahmed Palak unveiled the digital book at a virtual event on Saturday.
He further called for a cultural revolutio to strengtening the nation with the power of technology to establish ‘Golden Bengal’ declared by Bangabandhu.
Expressing his dream of becoming South Korea, Singaporeor Malaysia instead of Iraq or Syria, he said that ‘The Concert for Bangladesh’ in 1971 not only introduced Bangladesh to the world, but also became the protesting voice of the oppressed people.
And with the goal of this liberation, the government is trying to build a digital Bangladesh, a liberal, democratic, non-communal and meritorious generation. To that end, the ICT department has organized Bangabandhu Innovation Grant.
A 13-episode reality show of this grant will be held next September where the daughter of Ravi Shankar will be performing a special raga.
