Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar said the government was committed to ensuring digital security. He was speaking as the chief guest at an international webinar titled ‘Challenges of Interfaith Harmony in Bangladesh: What Government and Civil Society Should Do’ organized by the Ekatturer Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee on Thursday.
He said the government is committed to ensuring digital security. The highest importance is being given to this. Specialized manpower will be increased in every police station across the country to curb digital crime.
Advocate Rana Das Gupta, General Secretary of Bangladesh Hindu Bouddho Christian OikyaParishad, Hafez Maulana Ziaul Hasan, President of Bangladesh Sammilita Islami Jote, Shahid Jaya Shyamoli Nasrin Chowdhury, Shankar Sankhnak of Chittagong Giri Maharaj, former General Secretary of the Supreme Union Council of Bangladesh Bhadanta S. Lokjit Thero, Department of World Religions and Culture and Dhaka University Associate Professor Father Dr. Tapan de Rosario also spoke in the meeting.
The speakers expressed the view that the unrest in most parts of the world was due to the misuse of religion.
