The size of Bangladesh is not increasing but the size of our cyber world is increasing. Tackling the Fourth Industrial Revolution will require a lot of skilled manpower in the IT sector such as cyber security, server management, web hosting services.
Speakers in the sector expressed such optimism at a webinar titled ‘Security Concern of Safe Web-Hosting’ organized by the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) on Sunday (June 8).
Khairul Amin, Director General of Digital Security Agency was present as the chief guest on the occasion. He said the cyber security sector is a brand new sector, which will require a lot of manpower. The Fourth Industrial Revolution will require skilled manpower. Every public and private organization will need a lot of staff to look after the IT sector. If manpower is to be created in these sectors, then the government, industry and academia must all work together.
Tareq M Barkatullah, director of the CA Operations, Security and National Data Center, said the information of a country was not secure outside the country. Our information will remain in our country and cannot be kept by anyone outside. As a result, many foreign companies that provide hosting services, including Google, have started activities to come to Bangladesh.
We have want of skilled people in this sector, if we want to get skilled people, we have to change the education system. Tareq M Barkatullah said that skilled people should be created by combining academia with industry.
