Virgin Galactic started selling tickets in 2005 with the dream of taking tourists into space. Sixty-one-year-old Professor Katie Maizen Rouge bought the ticket for $ 250,000. After a long time, the company took another step towards realizing that dream. Virgin Galactic’s VSS Unity spacecraft has successfully completed a test flight after multiple delays. News Engadget.
The flight of the rocket-powered spacecraft on Saturday was operated by two pilots. However, the first flight was scheduled to be completed in December 2020. At first, the schedule was postponed twice due to computer problems, errors in rocket motor operation and technical inspections.
Due to the postponement of test flights, the schedule of the first space tourism has also been postponed. In 2022, the first non-governmental organization will travel to space with tourists. Apart from the tourists, Sir Richard Branson, the founder of Virgin Galactic, will be on his first trip.
However, this is not the end before the main flight, VSS Unity will have to complete more than one test flight ahead.
