Prof. Syed Samsuddin Ahmed, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib University of Science and Technology (BSFMSTU) said, “We want to develop the students as a qualified and efficient workforce by formulating timely curriculum in the university who will be at the top of merit and at the pinnacle of glory in the teaching of humanity. We are working towards that goal.”
Hon’ble VC was speaking as the chief guest on the concluding day of a training workshop on ‘Development of Outcome-Based Curriculum for Business Education at Tertiary Level’ on Tuesday (April 26). The three-day workshop was organized by the management department of the university.
Vice-Chancellor Dr. Syed Samsuddin Ahmed added that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken various steps to improve the quality of education. A modern and up-to-date curriculum is being formulated at BSFMSTU with the aim of imparting quality higher education.
So that all arrangements for the creative development of the underlying talents of the university students will be ensured. We will open the door for students to be involved in not only biblical studies but also the latest informative education, research and creative activities at home and abroad, he added.
He said there are many challenges in a new university. Despite all challenges, importance has been given to the students for honesty, ethics, patriotism, communication skills, team ability, complex thinking skills and so on from the very beginning. The main goal of this university system is to develop the students as efficient and capable.
Professor Dr. Md. Enayet Hossain from the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management of Rajshahi University was the resource person for the workshop. Dean of the Faculty of Science, Professor Sushant Kumar Bhattacharya and Registrar Khandaker Hamidur Rahman were present as special guests.
SM Yusuf Ali, Chairman and Assistant Professor, Department of Management, University, acted as the course director. The teachers of the department took part in the workshop which started on April 24.
