Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina feels that a strong partnership among countries and international organizations is needed to tackle the Corona pandemic. He made the remarks in a speech at the inaugural session of the Boao Forum for Asia (BAF) on Tuesday (April 20th) morning.
Sheikh Hasina said, ‘Corona pandemic has brought us to a terminal end in history. Perhaps we are facing the most difficult challenge of all time. The socio-economic impact of the pandemic is widespread and this impact is still growing. Therefore, global and regional partnerships are very important in tackling these challenges through concerted efforts.
Regarding the exchange of technological cooperation, the Prime Minister said, “Financial and technical assistance has become more important for developing countries in this time of crisis. Developing countries need more assistance from the funds of international financial institutions and multinational development banks.
Highlighting their situation, he said, “Bangladesh has built a significant framework to meet future challenges by establishing high-tech parks, broadband and satellite connections. Most importantly we are preparing our young people for innovation.
In this case, by exchanging benefits with each other, we can overcome other challenges, including cyber crime.
She further added, “This continent has a huge population, huge market and technological facilities. If we are united, we can achieve rapid growth together. It will also help us achieve the SDGs that we are committed to.
