The Panel Chairman of Rangashree Union Parishad of Bakerganj Upazila of Barisal district has filed a case against three people including a journalist in the Barisal Cyber Tribunal regarding post on Facebook. The defendants in the case are: Bakerganj upazila representative of the Dainik Janakantha, Ziaul Haque Akon; Monayem Khan Khokon, son of late Abdul Majid Khan of Char Rangashree area of ward number five of the municipality; and Helal Khan’s son Khan Mehdi, a resident of Krishnakathi village.
Barisal Cyber Tribunal bench assistant Nazmul Hasan said on Monday (November 6) evening, in view of the application against the accused, the tribunal judge Md. Golam Farooq directed the Bakerganj police station to investigate the complaint and submit a report.
It is known that Monayem Khan and Ziaul Haque Akon posted news on the social media Facebook on November 2 about Panel Chairman Mujibur Rahman of Rangashree Union of Bakerganj Upazila. Khan Mehdi commented in support of it. Mojibur Rahman filed a case in the Cyber Tribunal on Monday afternoon, alleging that the post on Facebook had been socially insulting.
