The government is committed to transforming Bangladesh from digital to smart. The Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) announced to hold a three-day ‘Smart Bangladesh Summit 2023’ from October 5 to show how this smart Bangladesh will be through an exhibition. Although, the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division postponed the summit two days ago on October 3, but Smart Bangladesh Award 2023 was given on National Sheikh Russell Day organized by the ICTD. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina handed over the prizes to the winners at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre.
Those who received the Smart Bangladesh Award 2023:
Nasima Akhter Nisha, Founder President of the Women and E-Commerce-WE, an online platform for women entrepreneurs at the private sector; Associate Professor Mohammad Arif Iftekhar Mahmud from Chittagong University in technical field at national level. Mohammad Mubarak Hossain, Chief Executive Officer of Plexus Cloud in private individual category and Programmer Mahbub Bin Wahab accepted the award on behalf of Bangladesh Rice Research Institute Chief Executive Officer Md. Ismail Hossain.
Mohammad Shaheen, Chief Executive Officer of Manu Farms, won Smart Bangladesh 2023 in the private sector category; NTMC Director General Major General Md. Ziaul Ahsan in the government institutional category and Obaidur Rahman, Chief Executive Officer of Tech Garlic Limited in the private institutional category.
Apart from this, five District Administrators were given this award in the Smart District Innovation Challenge 2023. They are Deputy Commissioner of Chattogram Abul Bashar Fakhruzzaman, Cox’s Bazar Deputy Commissioner Md Shaheen Imran, Dhaka Deputy Commissioner Anisur Rahman, Panchagarh Deputy Commissioner Md Zahurul Islam and Thakurgaon Deputy Commissioner Mahbubur Rahman.
ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak presided over the event.
