An unusual post has been made from the blue ticked official account of the social media Facebook asking for the release of the former president of Pakistan and cricketer Imran Khan. Although the post was quickly removed, the post gained a lot of attention in the meantime.
RELEASE Imran Khan! The post criticized the Indian and International Cricket Council for criticizing visas to host the World Cup. However, Facebook has not yet made an official statement about this.
Facebook’s official UK account is believed to have been ‘hacked’ on Friday evening, surprising social media users, Daily Mail reported.
At 10.40pm the Facebook account posted, ‘I don’t understand why I suddenly have access to post on my Facebook account.’
Minutes later, another post said, “Let me take this opportunity to inform the International Cricket Council and the Board of Control for Cricket in India that they have completely messed up the event by not issuing visas to those who want to watch the Cricket World Cup.”
Three minutes later another post said, RELEASE Imran Khan! (Leave Imran Khan)
The posts were deleted from the official account by 11:30 pm. But before that many people noticed these posts. As a result, if there is such a post from Facebook’s verified page; Then there are questions about the status of those who are verified by Facebook.
It is worth noting that, a district and session court in Islamabad sentenced Imran Khan to three years in prison on August 5 on charges of corruption in state gifts. He was taken to jail that day. The Islamabad High Court suspended Imran Khan’s sentence on August 29 in the case known as the Toshakhana case. But he has to remain in jail as his remand continues in the diplomatic cable leak case.
