Microsoft is developing a special AI model in collaboration with digital pathology company Paige. It is set to be the world’s largest image-based AI model for cancer detection. This was announced last Thursday.
Around four million digitized microscopic slides will be used to train the model, the report said.
There will be information on various types of cancer, using information from Paige’s own collection. Paige will be able to use Microsoft’s advanced supercomputing infrastructure. After training the artificial intelligence in detail, the model will be used in hospitals and laboratories around the world. Microsoft Azure will also be used there.
This model will help to find the subtle complications of cancer. Not only that, but also the next-generation clinical applications and computational biomarkers will help. The organization claims that the scope of oncology and pathology will be much wider.
This work is expected to be completed by 2024. And only then the diagnosis of the disease will be easier.
