Janmashtami Mohotsav was celebrated at Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) on the occasion of the auspicious appearance of the Supreme Lord of Hindu community, Shri Krishna with various programs including procession, Puja Archana, Reading from Gita, Kirtana and so on. Devotees welcomed Krishna‘s arrival by playing drums and singing the name of Lord Krishna in the procession.
On the occasion of auspicious Janmashtami, a procession was taken out from the front of the TSC building of JUST at 9:30 am on the initiative of the Sanatana Community of JUST. The procession went through the main road of the university and ended in front of the TSC building.
Later, in a short discussion meeting, the treasurer of the university on behalf of the vice-chancellor of JUST Md. Anisur Rahman said that people of all religions live together through mutual coexistence is the tradition of Bangladesh. Everyone will follow their religion, this is our communal harmony. After the procession and discussion, the worship of ‘Lord Krishna’ started on the second floor of TSC. After the ritual of puja, devotees offered Anjali to Lord Krishna on the occasion of Janmashtami. Devotees read and chanted the Gita according to religious norms. Later prasad was distributed among the devotees.
Various Sanatana students of various departments including Tarun Sen, Assistant Professor of Accounting and Information Systems (AIS) Department of JUST, Anjan Kumar Roy, Lecturer of Nursing and Health Science Department, Physical Instructor of Physical Education Department, Ujjal Chandra Sutradhar were present in various stages of Janmashtami.
