The Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar opined so at the opening ceremony of the three-day workshop organized by ISPAB which started on Thursday at Sarina Hotel in Banani of the capital.
While speaking as the Chief Guest, he expressed his annoyance telling that, ISPAB was not included in ITES despite the Prime Minister’s consent and repeated DO letter; the Minister advised the ISPAB leaders to take strong action to realize their demands.
The ISPAB President Imdadul Haque presided over the event while Commerce Ministry Additional Secretary Abdur Rahim Khan, BTRC Director General Brigadier General Ehsanul Kabir, Australian APNIC Trainer David Mitchell Palan and ISPAB General Secretary Nazmul Karim Bhuiyan spoke on the event.
Director General of BTRC said that the use of Internet in the country is increasing at the rate of 35 percent annually. In 2023, internet usage in the country will be 6000 Gbps. By the year 2025, eight and a half thousand will be required and by the year 30 it will be 19 thousand Gbps.
The ISPAB President Imdadul Haque, while speaking, drew the attention to the telecom minister to arrange active sharing opportunities for ISPAs like mobile operators and updating licenses for small traders.
