Pabna University of Science and Technology has a ‘Student Aid Fund’ for poor and meritorious students from the proceeds of admission tests. From this fund, 42 poor meritorious students of 21 departments of the university have been granted scholarships of Tk. 5000 each.
The scholarship awarding ceremony was held at the virtual classroom on Wednesday morning. Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Hafiza Khatun said the students, you should move forward with self-esteem. Like Nazrul’s poetry, ‘Ever erect is my head’. Obstacles should not stand as a cause of inferiority.
While speaking as a special guest, the Pro Vice-Chancellor SM Mustafa Kamal Khan said that the dreams that our young teachers are spreading among you should be utilized. We need to harness our recognition. Money is no barrier to get established in life. Willpower, effort, hard labor makes people grow.
Treasurer Dr. KM Salah Uddin while speaking as a special guest said, people can be successful if they have confidence, talent and financial ability. For that, you have to set your own goals and objectives and make a firm commitment and move forward in the future.
Among the scholarship recipients, Atiqul Islam and Nusrat Yasmin Eva spoke on the occasion.
Dean of various faculties, Registrar Bijan Kumar Brahma, Proctor Kamal Hossain, Departmental Chairman and teachers and students were present on the occasion.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Hafiza Khatun personally donated Tk. 5 lakh to the student aid fund.
