In order to implement the vision of Smart Bangladesh by 2041, experts have suggested that education, health, agriculture and industry sectors should be 100% digitally transformed and internet connectivity and digital signature and e-commerce penetration should be increased to 50% and 50% of government services should be brought online. According to them, the country’s information technology sector and business process outsourcing will play a major role in building a smart Bangladesh. For this, investment in the private sector should be increased 13 times.
At the BPO Summit Bangladesh, Chairman of Policy Exchange Bangladesh Muhammad Mashroor Riaz opined so while presenting the main article in the seminar on ‘Joined efforts for smart Bangladesh together’ held at Ruposhi Bangla of Hotel InterContinental in the capital on Monday.
He said, due to climate change, 20 percent of the world’s food grains including Bangladesh will be destroyed by 2041. Therefore technology has no substitute for industrialization of agriculture.
