5 good news for the people of Bogura from the Prime Minister to create smart employment
In the frustrating context of burning certificates in searching jobs, the government is working to create huge employment opportunities for young students as entrepreneurs as a way to improve the skills of job seekers and solve unemployment. As a part of this, smart employment fair is being held across the country including Bogura, said the ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak. He assured that hardware manufacturing plant like mobile, laptop and computer will soon be established in the district by setting up hi-tech park as Bogra Shilpanagari-2 covering an area of 100 acres.
He informed so at the Bogra Smart Employment Fair-2023 organized by the Information and Communication Technology Division on Saturday and distribution of grant checks among the smart women entrepreneurs of Bogra district. He said, ‘I have come to Bogra to solve problems’.
In the event, 11 young people asked various questions to the state minister. Pointing out the reasons behind the youth’s lagging behind by giving ‘chocolate gifts’ to them at the event, Palak said, “At the employment fair, we establish a connection between job seekers and donors.” After that there are no skill development sessions for those who don’t get jobs. But this time the attendance is reduced by half. Today when I told you about 15 chocolates, two people could take it first. Seeing his success, 10 others followed. The rest of the 950 people were sitting and wondering if it was right to go, and wondering what I should do when I get up. Some may be ashamed. This is how we fall behind. So if you want to achieve something, you have to use the opportunity that is in front of you.
On behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the State Minister for ICT gave 5 good news for the 4 million people of the district in the speech of the chief guest. Among the good news are, funding for implementation of innovative ideas outside educational institutions, gift of laptops after training 500 women entrepreneurs in the next 6 months, establishment of 206 more Sheikh Russell Digital Labs and 7 Schools of Future in the next financial year, training of 1 thousand local people in four categories of high technology, Setting up Joy Service Employment Centers in 7 Upazilas of the district within the next six months and starting the work of Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Center in 14 acres area at Bogura Sadar in a very short time. The state minister also said that a Science and Technology University will be launched soon in Bogura after the name of Bangabandhu.
Deputy Commissioner Saiful Islam presided over the event, among others, Member of Parliament for Bogura 4 Constituency AKM Rezaul Karim Tansen, Member of Parliament for Bogra 6 Constituency Ragebul Ahsan Ripu, President of Bangladesh Awami League Bogra District Branch Mujibur Rahman Manju, President of Bogra Chamber of Commerce and Industries Masudur Rahman Milan, Sheikh Russell Digital Project Manager, SAM Rafiqun Nabi Learning and Earning Development Project Project Director Humayun Kabir and others were present at the event.
Suraiya Tabassum and Ashikur Rahman, trained freelancers from the LEDP project, presented their success stories as entrepreneurs. On behalf of the Prime Minister, the ICT State Minister handed over a grant check of Tk. 50,000 to 48 smart women entrepreneurs of Bogura district and distributed laptops among those who received training under LEDP. Later, the state minister digitally inaugurated Joy Set Centers of six more upazilas of Bogra district.
A total of 33 public and private institutions set up stalls in the fair. About 6000 job candidates registered online and offline. 30 people are selected for employment in private institutions based on their merit after conducting spot interviews. The rest will be given temporary employment.
