The mobile operators are starting the journey from micro to macro packages. Three days, seven days, 30 days are replaced by 10-30 years unlimited packages. The Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar disclosed this information on his verified Facebook page on Tuesday (April 25).
There, he uploaded a picture of the packages and wrote, ‘Existing data packs of all operators: for a long time—what we call it unlimited.’
From the picture of the possible package attached to the minister’s post, it is found that all four operators are offering this long-term data packages. Among them, Banglalink offers15 GB at Tk. 547 and 40 GB at Tk. 1,199 for 10 years, Teletalk offers 6 GB at Tk. 127 and Tk. 309 till 2036, Grameenphone offers 15 GB at Tk. 549 and Tk. 1,199 till February 18, 2033 and Robi offers 10 GB at Tk. 444, 20 GB at Tk. 777, 50 GB at Tk. 1,444 for 30 years.
Earlier on April 28 last year, the telecom operators of Bangladesh launched the much awaited ‘Unlimited’ and ‘Unexpired Internet Data Packs’. At the beginning of the ‘ unlimited’ monthly data packages, which was inaugurated by the Telecommunication Minister Mustafa Jabba in an event organized at BTRC; the maximum daily limit for data usage was specified and although it was said that the data will not expire, it actually meant the period of 1 year of data.
Grameenphone (GP) launched 2 packages in the inaugural offer. One package offers 15 gigabytes (GB) of data at Tk. 1,999 and the other at Tk. 449, offering 5 GB of data. Robi offered 10 GB data for Tk. 319, Banglalink 5 GB at Tk. 306 and Teletalk 26 GB at Tk. 309 and 6 GB at Tk. 127.
