Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University, Bangladesh and Wadani Foundation signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Thursday (April 13) in the meeting room of the university’s administrative building at Kaliakore, Gazipur on skill development. On behalf of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University Bangladesh, University Registrar (Additional Charge) Professor Dr. Mahbubul Alam Joarder and Senior Program Manager of the institution Estanul Kabir signed the agreement on behalf of Wadani Foundation.
At that time, University’s Honorable Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain, Wadani Foundation’s Associate Program Manager Sagar Khalasi, Senior Associate Job Placement Shahriar Islam and other teachers of the University were present.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony was coordinated by the Soft Skill Development Cell of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University Bangladesh.
In the pre-memorandum signing discussion, University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mahfuzul Islam said, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University has realized from the beginning that there is no alternative to skill development in this era of the fourth and fifth industrial revolutions and is working to improve the skills of the students of this university.
The Vice-Chancellor also said that Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University is interested in making graduates suitable for industry with utmost importance to Bangladesh industry. The Vice-Chancellor thanked all the industries and organizations including Wadani Foundation who came forward to applaud the initiative of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University, Bangladesh.
On the occasion, the University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Mahbubul Alam Joardar said, We are going to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Wadani Foundation on a timely basis. In the light of this MoU we have to prepare a report on the course we have started, a report on how much our students have learned from the course at the end of the course and a report on when our students work in the industry. By reviewing these three reports we can understand where we are.
Professor Dr. Anwar Hossain, treasurer of the university, said in this era of information technology, there is no alternative to acquire new skills. I believe that the faculty and students of this university will be greatly enriched through these skill acquisition courses.
