NASA has sent a satellite into space to monitor air pollution. The satellite was launched from the Cape Carnival Space Force Station in Florida by a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.
Through tropospheric emission monitoring of pollution, various information related to pollution can be known, which will help a lot in curing air pollution related problems in future.
NASA Administrator Bill Nelson said in a statement, “With the TEMPO project, pollution can be measured.” TEMPO will provide images of pollution across an area of four square miles every hour. Provide air quality reports. This device will give data on the rate at which the levels of nitrogen dioxide, formaldehyde are increasing in the air.
It will keep an eye on the ozone layer. TEMPO will provide detailed reports on how much pollutant particles or aerosols are accumulating in the air from straw burning, garbage burning smoke, factory smoke-polluting gases and radioactive fallout.
The machine is as big as a washing machine. It will be placed in low earth orbit in space. Its job will be to control pollution.
