The State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmad Palak bought a charred sheet recovered from the market which was badly burnt in the capital’s Bangabazar for 40 thousand taka.
Charity organization Vidyananda Foundation has taken the initiative to stand by the affected businessmen by buying and selling their burnt clothes. By collecting these clothes they are selling to the rich people of the society. The money from these sales will be handed over to the affected small traders.
As a part of this, the state minister purchased a burnt sheet from Vidyananda Foundation in Bangabazar.
He bought this dress during the distribution of Iftar among underprivileged people organized by the Vidyananda Foundation on Thursday evening. At that time, he said, I and my colleagues bought this sheet for 40 thousand taka with all that we had. The fire caused an estimated loss of one thousand crore taka. Now they need some financial and emotional support. We are 17 crore people; can’t we stand by these 5 thousand people with the ability? He also said that money is not important, the important thing is that we are on the side of these businessman.
He appreciated the initiative of Vidyananda Foundation to stand by the affected traders in Bangabazar with creative, innovative solutions and said that he will always support them in any great initiative.
The state minister urged everyone to stand by the helpless small businessmen of Bangabazar according to their ability.
