Motivational workshop, animation movie, quiz competition, raffle draw, CV submission and interview – mobile app game and job festival was held at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology- SUST for two days.
The contestants presented 5 mobile app ideas at the beginning of the last day of the festival held in the central auditorium of the university. First of all, Moksedur Rahman Sohan, a student of SUST, came up with the idea of a mobile app ‘third eye’ for the blind and showed how a mobile phone becomes a ‘white-cane’.
The ‘DBAZ’ team led by Pritam Pal of Metropolitan University demonstrated a booking and searching app. The app has Augmented Reality avatar to solve all problems in one app.
SUST’s Team Arodan presented an Autistic Friendly Mobile App. Sadia Tasnim Mim of the Farm to Home team of the same university highlighted a farmer-friendly app that would eliminate the middleman between the farmer and the consumer.
Then Sumant Saha from the Rent IT team presented an app that will increase product reuse online.
Finally, Team Mukti’s Nafiullah Safin showed the history-tradition based game app of Bengal. And with this app idea ‘Mukti‘ game app won the best game idea award. Tahsina bint Azam’s team ‘Third Eye’ came second in the competition. Nahian Binte Feroze and Bipul Karmakar of SUST’s agitation team came third.
The event, which concluded on Thursday in collaboration with the ICT department, showcased Project Initiatives, Mujib Bhai’s trailer, Digital Bangladesh Swapnapuran, Amader Chhota Russell Sona’s trailer, Mujib Amar Pita, Hasina and Friends’ video screenings, among other programmes.
Author and tech evangelist Muhammad Altamish Nabeel also took a workshop on personal branding in the People Training and Technology session. He urged everyone present to compare career and life goals. He highlighted the brilliance of individuals and personalities.
Secretary of ICT Division Md. Shamsul Arefin joined the festival as the chief guest and warned the present students. He urged the young society to give importance to artificial intelligence to survive in the competition with the whole world.
Sylhet Metropolitan University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Zahirul Haque, Professor of Computer Science and Engineering Department Dr. Md. Zahirul Islam and Professor Dr. Md. Farhad Rabbi The teachers of the department were present as special guests.
Muhammad Anwar Hossain, Project Director of Mobile Games and Apps of ICT Division presided over the event.
