Travel credit card-SkyTrip has been launched to ensure risk-free cash carrying facilities for urgent needs or traveling by plane. Minister of State for Private Aviation, Transport and Tourism Mahbub Ali inaugurated this smart service on Thursday. He believes that the service will make travel hassle-free as well as portraying the true picture of the tourism sector in the country.
The first co-branded travel credit card of the country’s has been jointly launched by MasterCard, ShareTrip and Eastern Bank.
Hasan A Arif, Head of Portfolio Investment, SmartUp Bangladesh, was present as the guest of honor at the launch of the Skytrip card at a prestigious hotel in the capital. Among others present were Eastern Bank Limited Managing Director and CEO Ali Reza Iftekhar, MasterCard Bangladesh Country Manager Syed Mohammad Kamal and ShareTrip CEO Sadia Haque and Co-Founder Kashef Rahman along with senior officials of the three institutions.
It was informed at the event that these card holders will get access to the EBL Sky Lounge of Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport and Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport and other facilities. Along with travel insurance and baggage protection, the Mastercard lounge facility will provide SkyTrip cardholders with free access to more than 1,100 international airport lounges in 120 countries. There will be various discounts and special gifts from more than 6 thousand merchant outlets of Mastercard.
In addition, the service providers consider the service to be an added pleasure for the travel enthusiasts as they can travel anytime with three months credit facility.
Ahsan Ullah Chowdhury, Head of Digital Financial Services of Eastern Bank said that initiatives have been taken so that EBL credit card customers also get this attractive opportunity.
The success of SkyTrip’s services in occasional, emergency travel now depends on customers’ financial solvency and quality of service.
