Bangladesh and India have expressed interest in working together to take future and emerging technologies to the next level. State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak and a 9-member delegation led by the President of Bengal Chamber of Industries of West Bengal Subir Chakraborty today informed about this interest in a meeting held at the Bangladesh Secretariat at the Ministry of Commerce.
During the meeting, they discussed creating opportunities for cooperation in ’emerging technologies’ including 3D, AI and other digital transformations.
Leaders of Bengal Chamber said that ICT is a knowledge based industry. So working together will have far-reaching benefits. The leaders emphasized on working through joint-collaboration in digitization with startups, agritech, cyber security, health delivery systems, and IT innovation centers.
In the meeting, it was agreed to organize Startup or Young Entrepreneur Summit and Startup Hackathon to build startup eco-system between Bangladesh and West Bengal.
The Minister of State for ICT said that we would like to move forward on the basis of future partnership through startup exchange, B2B matchmaking and knowledge sharing between technology companies in India and Bangladesh.
He sought cooperation from the delegation of the Bengal Chamber to jointly work on four areas of emerging technology, particularly micro processor design, artificial intelligence (AI), robotics and cyber security. He said there are many talented students in our country. To make them more efficient, cooperation between the education and industry of the two countries should be increased.
The Minister of State urged the leaders of the Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry of India to invest in the ICT sector of Bangladesh. They expressed hope that mutual relations between the two countries will be more close and cordial.
Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority Managing Director Dr. Khandkar Azizul Islam, Executive Director of Bengal Chamber Gautam Roy, Director General Subodeep Ghosh, Assistant Director General Mr. Angana Guha Roy, Vice President of Cify Technologies Limited Neehar Chakraborty and other officials of the delegation were present.
