Bangladesh and Ghana have reached a consensus to develop technology-based innovation and entrepreneurship to move ahead with the developed world in the digital economy. For this reason, the ICT ministers of the two countries held a meeting to develop innovation and entrepreneurship culture in both countries.
Bangladesh ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak and Ghana’s Communications Minister Ursula Owusu-Ikuful discussed this at the Riyadh Front Expo and Exhibition Center in Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh on Tuesday. In the discussion, they pledged to work together to create innovation and entrepreneurship friendly environment in their respective countries.
At the end of the meeting, the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy of Nigeria, Prof. Isa Ali Ibrahim, exchanged views with several ICT ministers from different countries and with leading technology entrepreneurs, researchers and scientists from Saudi Arabia and the world. In that dinner meeting, leaders expressed their condolences on the historic assassination of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and his family members.
Earlier on Monday night, Minister of State for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak and Secretary General of the Multinational ‘Digital Cooperation Organization’ (DCO) met with Dima Al Yahia. In the meeting, they discussed about the measures to take the digital innovation sector forward.
In the meeting, the Prime Minister agreed that Bangladesh and Digital Cooperation Organization will work together to achieve the vision of Smart Bangladesh by 2041 announced by the Prime Minister.
Among others, ICT State Minister’s Private Secretary Md. Mushfiqur Rahman and related officials of DCO were present.
In the meeting, the state minister mentioned that the youth of Bangladesh are very talented and said, ‘Two-thirds of the total population of our country is young people. This young population is our wealth. Skilled youth are working successfully in the IT sector through various trainings. As a result, a lot of employment has been created in the IT/ITES sector in the country. Already it has been possible to acquire a significant part of the world market of information technology very quickly.
Palak said that Bangladesh has been able to present its identity to the world through constant innovation. We have already implemented Digital Bangladesh. Now we are working towards building Smart Bangladesh by determining 4 pillars.
A meeting was also held between Minister of State for Information and Communications Zunaid Ahmed Palak and Ayman Al Falaj, CEO of renowned Data Solutions Engineering Company (TIQUAH) at the LEAP Tech Conference in Saudi Arabia. In the meeting, he expressed optimism about working together to take Bangladesh’s data engineering and security sector to the next level.
