PayPal is the latest company so far in the technology market to announce layoffs. The international payment services company plans to cut about 2,000 jobs, which is about 7 percent of the company’s total workforce. News Engadget.
PayPal President and CEO Da Sulman said the layoff plan will be implemented in the next few weeks. Retrenched employees will be provided better package and support.
PayPal has recently joined the list of top tech companies laying off workers worldwide. In early January, Google announced about 12,000 layoffs, or about six percent of its total workforce. Before that, Microsoft announced about 10,000 layoffs.
