All brands owned by Volkswagen have stopped all paid activities on microblogging site Twitter. The decision will remain in effect until further notice, a company spokesperson said on Wednesday. News Reuters.
Volkswagen owns the car brands Audi, Volkswagen, Seat, Cupra, Lamborghini, Bentley, Ducati and Porsche. Earlier this month, the company said it would recommend all brands cease paid activity on Twitter until further instructions from Elon Musk to closely monitor the Twitter acquisition.
A Volkswagen spokesperson said all brands have accepted the recommendation. Audi has also stopped organic i.e. non-paid activities.
An Audi spokesperson told Reuters, “We are closely monitoring the situation.” Further action will be taken if the situation improves.
