The government will buy paddy through the ‘Krishaker App‘ (Farmer’s app) in the current Amon season. For this reason, the food department has issued 13 instructions to the food department officials at the field level. For this reason, it has been decided to implement ‘Krishaker App’ in pilot form in 272 selected Upazilas across the country. For that purpose, letters have been sent to the regional food controllers of Dhaka, Rangpur, Khulna, Barisal, Chattogram, Sylhet, Rajshahi and Mymensingh with this instruction.
13 instructions have been given to register by November 30 to apply for the sale of paddy. It has been mentioned there as, all the concerned should be informed about the use of the app by downloading the video tutorial from the ‘Guide Line-Farmer’s App’ in the ‘Photo and Video Box’ attached to the Food Department’s website. Farmer registration should be encouraged through Union Digital Center Entrepreneurship.
As per the letter of Food Department, according to the training schedule of the farmers in using the app, all concerned UNOs, Upazila Agriculture Officers along with the concerned designated officers-employees of the Food Department must participate in the virtual workshop through Zoom. Leaflets prepared for paddy collection activities through farmer’s app and audio prepared should be downloaded and disseminated in all unions of the concerned Upazilas through miking.
It is also said to publish the posters (leaflets) prepared from the website through online social media.
The government will buy five lakh tons of rice and three lakh tons of paddy from the domestic market this year. Rice will be bought at Tk. 42 and paddy at Tk. 28 per kg.
