The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) organized a road show on Sunday to mark the World Telecommunication and Information Day. In the road show, the commercial organizations and organizations related to telecom sector showcased their capabilities and pride in information technology and telecom services on a total of 32 pick-ups. Of these, 24 pick-ups were related to the telecom sector.
Private mobile operator Robi Axiata has won the first place by taking part in this road show. The second place was secured by BTCL, a state-owned telecom service provider. And the third place was taken by the IGW Operators Forum (IOF).
Robi Axiata won this award by creating a family atmosphere of receiving technology services using the mobile network in rural areas with the Gamvira music of Rajshahi region. Robi Acting Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer M Riaz Rashid received the award from the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications on the night of May 29.
On the other hand, BTCL highlighted the history and heritage of BTRC in telecommunication services as well as the image of its strong come-back with new services. BTCL Managing Director Dr .Rafiqul Matin received the award on behalf of the organization.
Mushfiqur Manzoor, Chief Operating Officer of IGW Operators Forum (IOF) received the award on behalf of the organization.
BTRC Chairman Shyam Sunder Sikder and Director General Brigadier General Nasim Parvez were also present on the occasion of handing over the prizes.
