Free built-in virtual private network (VPN) feature is being added to Edge browser for user safety and privacy. This was reported by The Verge, citing Microsoft’s support page.
The VPN feature is being introduced under the name Edge Secure Network. The software giant is currently testing the CloudFair-based VPN service. It will be launched for users as part of security enhancements.
After launching the service in the browser, Edge Secure Network will encrypt users’ web traffic. As a result, Internet service providers will not be able to collect information from users on various topics. The new feature will allow you to hide your location by using a virtual IP address. As a result, users will be able to use streaming services that are closed in their country.
However, even if VPN service is launched, its use is limited. A user can browse a maximum of 1 GB of data for free in a month. And to use it you must use Microsoft account.
