A review meeting on the progress of implementation of projects included in the RADP for the month of March 2021-22 of the Department of Information and Communication Technology was held at the meeting room of the Department of Information and Communication on Wednesday. State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak was present as the chief guest at the meeting.
The meeting was presided over by NM Zeaul Alam, Senior Secretary, Department of Information and Communication Technology. Heads of various agencies under the Bangladesh Hi-tech Park Authority, Bangladesh Computer Council, and ICT Department and Project Directors were present in the meeting.
The meeting discussed in detail about the implementation plans of the projects undertaken by the ICT department in the current financial year, achievement of real and financial targets based on the month, decisions which were taken earlier and recruitment of manpower. It was informed in the meeting that the progress of the projects of ICT department till March 2022 on the basis of project based financial allocation is 74.51%.
Financial and feasibility of all other projects including IT/Hi-Tech Park establishment Project in district level, Sheikh Russel Digital Lab Project, Info Gov-3 Project, building subsidiary infrastructure of Hi-Tech City-2, Building ICT network in Hard to reach Project, Aspire to Innovate (a2i) Program, National ICT Infrastructure Development Project, Learning and Earning Development Project (2nd amendment), Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Center establishment Project, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Hi-tech Park Rajshahi ( 1st amendment) Project, Hi-tech Parks including Kaliakoir High-tech Park Development Project (3rd amendment), Building IT Business Incubator at CUET, Capacity increasing Project of BGD E-Gov CIRT, leveraging ICT for employment and growth of the IT- IT ES Industry Project, IT engineers’ Skill development project suitable for IT sectors in Japan, Mobile Game and Application Skills Development Project, Innovation and Entrepreneur Development Academy Establishment Project, Secure Email and Digital Literacy Center Establishment Project for Government of Bangladesh, Connected Bangladesh Title Project, Digital Security Agency Establishment and Necessary Infrastructure Development Project and the progress were discussed in the meeting. The financial and practical progress of all other projects, including the establishment of a digital security agency and the necessary infrastructure development projects, were discussed in detail. The Minister of State instructed the concerned persons including the Project Director to ensure 100% speedy progress of projects and complete the work on time while maintaining quality as per the work plan. The project directors promised to complete the work of the projects within the stipulated time.
It may be mentioned that in the current financial year, 1 thousand 305 crore 47 lakh taka has been allocated for 31 projects including 3 technical projects under ICT department.
