The Ministry of Commerce has already taken necessary steps to regulate e-commerce. Work is also being done to control e-commerce transactions. This was stated by Tapan Kanti Ghosh, Senior Secretary, Ministry of Commerce.
He was speaking in the conference room of the Commerce Ministry at the inauguration ceremony of the reimbursement of Qcoom.com customers money stuck at Foster Corporation Limited on Monday (January 24).
Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce (Director General, WTO Cell), Md. Hafizur Rahman, Additional Secretary (Import and Internal Trade) and AHM Safiquzzaman, Head of Central Digital Commerce Cell, Shomi Kaiser, President of E-Commerce and other senior officials of Ministry of Commerce and members of Central Digital Commerce Cell were present in the inaugural program.
The secretary said the government is working on how to get the money back quickly for the consumers who have ordered from various digital companies and have not yet received the product or money back. Unique Business ID will be launched shortly to manage e-commerce.
The Commerce Secretary further said that those who ordered the products on the digital platform and did not get the product delivered will get their money back. The money in the payment gateway is also being refunded. In the case of legal proceedings, action will be taken as per the directions of the court. The government has already started collecting data from various e-commerce organizations. The government is working hard to bring e-commerce to a place of trust.
