‘Nagad’, a postal mobile financial service of Bangladesh has won the country’s best digital financial service-2021 award. The award is presented by Global Economics Limited, a UK-based world-renowned half-yearly financial business magazine.
On January 20, Global Economics Limited hosted a prestigious awards ceremony at the five-star Hotel Sangrila in Dubai. Where representatives from different countries from different parts of the world participate in this event.
Faisal Chowdhury, Director of Nagad, and KM Irene Aziz, Head of Nagad’s Strategic Alliance, received the award on behalf of Nagad.
Earlier, in July 2021, ‘Nagad’ was recognized as Best Digital Financial Services (DFS) by Global Economics Limited. And as part of that recognition, ‘Nagad’ recently received the award.
Global Economics Limited has recognized ‘Nagad’ as the best DFS for digital transformation, mainly through technological innovation. The publication presents this Global Economics Award to the best companies in the market.
Since its launch in March 2019, Nagad has been gaining recognition for its innovative services. In addition, for the first time in the country, e-KYC (Know Your Customer) service was launched with ‘Nagad’.
In addition, the service opens the process of opening MFS account in just a few seconds with the mobile operators of the country for the first time. This remarkable innovation has made it easy for customers to open a ‘Nagad’ account by dialing *167#.
Commenting on this achievement, Tanvir A Mishuk, co-founder and managing director of Nagad, said, “Since the inception, we have been working to provide affordable customer service through innovation. ‘Nagad’ has played an important role in the implementation of the vision of Digital Bangladesh during these three years, as a result of which the company has gained innumerable recognition.
The Inclusive Fintech Fifty Award for Best Fintech Startup in October 2020, the first Bangladeshi MFS organization to be uniquely contributed to economic inclusion at the World Information Technology and Services Alliance Bangladesh Global ICT Excellence Award 2020 in the year 2020 and recognition in Digital Bangladesh Fair 2020 for contributing in Digital Bangladesh formation are a few in the list.
At present, the number of subscribers of ‘Nagad’ is 5 crore 80 lakhs and the average transaction is 750 crores.
