Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Twitter account has been hacked. It has been claimed that hackers hacked Modi’s account and spread fake information about bitcoins.
His Twitter account was hacked at midnight on Saturday. However, in a short time it was recovered from the hands of hackers.
A statement from the Prime Minister’s Office said, “Narendra Modi’s Twitter handle was ‘hacked for a very short time’ and later re-secured. A link was shared with the promise of Bitcoin in the account.”
Prime Minister Modi has more than 73.4 million followers on his account. Shortly after being hacked, the account was restored and the fake tweets were deleted. The fake tweet from his account read, ‘India has officially accepted Bitcoin as a legal tender. The government has officially bought 500 bitcoins and is distributing them among all the residents of the country.
Then that screenshot of Modi’s Twitter account went viral on social media. Discussions about this continued on the net. Many also criticized. However, many urged not to be confused. They said that Narendra Modi’s account has been hacked. Many people are also prohibited from clicking on the link that is shared.
