The popular game League of Legends World Championship 2022 is returning to North America after five years. At the same time, for the first time, this championship is going to be held in more than one country, one of the biggest sports events of the year.
Organizer Riot Games has announced that the Multiplayer Online Battle League of Legends World Championships will be held in New York, Toronto, Mexico City and San Francisco.
The initial play-in will be in Mexico City. The group stage and quarter finals of the competition will be held at the Hulu Theater in Madison Square Garden, New York. The semifinals will be held in Toronto. The venue for the final matches is the San Francisco Chess Center.
This year’s championship, which ended last November, was won first in Shenzhen, China, and then in Reykjavik, Iceland. But that was no longer possible because of the pandemic.
In such a situation, Naz Aletaha, the global head of the League of Legends Sports, has expressed his excitement to be able to organize this year’s championship in four cities of the three countries. She also said that the venue of the National Basketball Association of the United States has been fixed in the hope of holding a physical championship.
