Nintendo is closing their offices in Redwood City, California and Toronto, Canada. The Verge quoted a company statement as saying Kotaku released a report on the closure of the Redwood City office last Friday.
“Nintendo is headquartered in Redmond, Washington, USA, and in Vancouver, British Columbia,” the statement said, “We are closing our small satellite offices in Toronto and Redwood City and relocating staff to our headquarters.”
The Kotaku report said Nintendo’s decision resulted in the dismissal of about 100 workers from the Redwood City office. Nintendo did not say exactly how many workers would lose their jobs as a result of the decision. However, the company said in a statement that some workers would be transferred to other offices. Nintendo also did not say why the offices were being closed.
