Rapid Action Battalion – RAB 6 has arrested four people, including Zubair Siddiqui, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of e-commerce company Adian Mart, in a customer embezzlement case. They were arrested from Khulna and Chuadanga around 12 at night on Friday (October 29).
Earlier, RAB raided the head office of Adian Mart from afternoon to 8 at night. Major Mohammad Shariful Ahsan, company commander of Jhenaidah (CPC-2) RAB-6, said this at a press briefing at around 10:30 am on Saturday.
Major Mohammad Shariful Ahsan, company commander of Jhenaidah RAB-6 camp, said Adian Mart, an e-commerce company in Chuadanga, had been attracting the general public with various offers. They swindled about eight crore taka in the name of supplying goods. On Friday, Atiqur Rahman Ujjwal, a victim of fraud, filed a case against them with Chuadanga Sadar Police Station for embezzling Tk 18 lakh 52 thousand 480.
After filing the case, RAB-6 arrested Jubayer Siddiqui Manik, CEO, Mahmud Siddiqui Ratan, General Manager, Abu Bakkar Siddiqui, Advisor and Minarul Islam, Manager from Chuadanga and Khulna on the basis of secret information. They will be handed over to Chuadanga Sadar Police Station.
He added that the e-commerce company Adian Mart was founded in February 2020. From the very beginning, the company attracted the public through various offers. At present, their product deficit is around Tk 7-8 crore. For several months, they shut down their organization’s customer care activities.
At present they have about 1800 invoice orders left. A vigilante expedition team from RAB-6’s Gangni camp started a shadow investigation into the case from the very beginning. After investigation, they were arrested from Khulna and Chuadanga on Friday.
