The government has finalized the national blockchain strategy in 2020 to adopt and spread blockchain technology in the country. If you want to work on blockchain, you need to have a good idea about this strategy as well as technical issues. To this end, a two-hour online seminar on National Blockchain Strategy was jointly organized by Bangladesh Open Source Network and Munir Hasan.com.
The keynote speakers at the seminar were Dr. Md. Sadeq Ferdous, Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at BRAC University and the lead author of the National Blockchain Strategy; and Khandaker Atiq A. Rabbani, Head of Blockchain Academy for Research, Education and Development (BARED)
The seminar was conducted by Dr. Niaz Chowdhury, Researcher at the Open University of the United Kingdom and author of Inside Blockchain, Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency. Prominent educationist Muhammad Zafar Iqbal was present in the seminar as a guest.
Dr. Md. Sadeq Ferdous expressed his optimism that he wants to see Bangladesh as a developed country based on blockchain by 2040. Dr. Niaz Chowdhury opines that blockchain will play a helpful role in the future sustainable development based on technology. Mr. Atiq A. Rabbani, who was present at the event, said that with proper governance, the introduction of blockchain based cryptocurrencies is possible and needs control. Speakers concluded the session by advocating for potential blockchain technology and providing an accurate explanation of transparency, security and standards.
Eminent educationist Muhammad Zafar Iqbal said that there is no alternative to the implementation of new trends and modern technology in the overall development of the country with unique technology. Munir Hasan, general secretary of Bangladesh Open Source Network, said that there are plans to organize a series of seminars and workshops on blockchain.
Researchers attended the seminar have suggested that the National Blockchain Strategy Paper will help popularize blockchain.
