The mourning month of August has started. In the golden jubilee of independence, it is a little more emotional this year.
On 15th August 1975, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the best Bengali of the millennium, had to be martyred along with his family in the barbaric murder of history.
This mourning on his birth centenary has already turned into strength. Fortunately, under the leadership of the surviving daughter of Bangabandhu, Digital Bangladesh is becoming the golden Bengal of his dreams.
With the beginning of August, popular platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram are being overshadowed by the blood of Bangabandhu. Pictures of still bodies on the stairs with bullets on chests wearing check lungi and white Punjabi, Bangabandhu seems to be leading Digital Bangladesh with that index finger.
Sajib Wazed Joy, the architect of Digital Bangladesh, has launched a tribute hashtag on Facebook. #DarkAugust #Bangabandhu #SheikhMujib and #Bangladesh.
On the other hand, his daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has inaugurated a voluntary blood and plasma donation program through video conferencing.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud attended a lamp-lighting ceremony in his memory on the first day of mourning August.
Many like Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar and State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak are now taking pictures of Bangabandhu on Facebook cover and profile pictures. In the profile frame called mournful August, they are associating Bangabandhu with their own existence.
