NASA will send a rocket to the moon ‘Europa’ of Jupiter. NASA has signed an agreement with Elon Musk’s SpaceX. According to the agreement, the Falcon Heavy rocket made by California-based SpaceX will be used in this mission, which will be launched in October 2024.
According to the US media Bloomberg, the rocket will be sent for a scientific investigation to find out if there is liquid water under the ice in Europa.
NASA said in a statement on Friday that the Europa Clipper mission was worth $ 178 million. According to the agreement, the Europa Clipper spacecraft will take high-resolution images of the satellite to learn about the structure of Europa and its geological functions. It will also try to know the depth and salinity of the sea including the lake.
It is estimated that it will take more than five years to reach the moon of Jupiter, which is 630 million kilometers from Earth.
