Twitter’s subscription service plans are slowly coming to the light. The matter was further strengthened by the acquisition of Scroll. The acquisition of the startup, which has partnered with publishers to view ad-free content, was announced in a tweet on Tuesday.
‘Scroll’ could play a leading role in Twitter’s future subscription plans. Twitter has not yet commented on how the service will work. But before that, some hints were given through the newsletter platform review. The review was acquired by Twitter last year.
Scroll has enough ability to implement Twitter’s subscription plans. Because the startup currently has partnerships with various publications and local magazines, including Vox, Rolling Stone, BuzzFeed.
In a blog post, Twitter said that subscribers will be able to enjoy ad-free news easily from popular media and read newsletters of popular authors in reviews. And those publications and authors will get a part of the subscription fee.
