Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority and Corporate Technology Limited are jointly organizing a free Microsoft Cloud Skills Training Program. Under this program, 5,000 young people in Bangladesh and IT professionals will be trained on Microsoft’s cloud skills.
On Tuesday, May 4, State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak announced the inauguration of the training program on the virtual platform.
In his inaugural address, the State Minister for ICT said that according to the latest statistics, the cloud-based business of about worth 13 million US dollar is being conducted in Bangladesh every year. In the next 3-5 years, the scope of cloud-based business in Bangladesh is likely to increase by another 20-25%. And the global freelance market has about 1.8 million dollar worth of cloud services. Domestic companies that are using Microsoft’s cloud solutions demand professional vendor certificates for their jobs. There are currently about 10,000 professionals working in the cloud-based service sector in Bangladesh and in the next 3-5 years there will be opportunities for another 10,000 professional experts in this sector.
In the future, besides Microsoft, companies like Google and Amazon will be interested in training the manpower of Bangladesh by adapting their platforms, he said.
Hosne Ara Begum, NDC, Managing Director (Secretary) of Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority, stated in her address as the Chairperson That the Hi-Tech Park Authority and the Information and Communication Technology Department are working together. The purpose of Microsoft Cloud Skills Training is to enable our young generation to work with new technologies from now on and prepare themselves to face the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Through this training, they will get job opportunities in the country and abroad. This Microsoft Cloud Skill Training will be provided in Bangla by Corporate Technology Limited’s own Microsoft Certified Trainers.
Afif Mohammad Ali, Managing Director, Microsoft Bangladesh, said that the ‘Microsoft Cloud Skills’ training program, a joint venture between Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority and Corporate Technology Limited, provides training to develop skills to the trainees on specialized Microsoft platforms such as specialized domains like Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Server, Modern Workplace and so on. Participants who pass the training will receive a 100 US dollar Cloud Credit from Microsoft and a 20% waiver on the Vendor Certificate Exam. Apart from this, 50 participants will be selected by Corporate Technology Ltd. For internship.
Shafiqul Ahmed Sagar, Chief Executive Officer of Corporate Technology Limited, said, “If we want to take our country forward, we have to work in a coordinated manner and improve the country’s IT sector.” In order to keep pace with the developed world, we need to give young people an idea of modern technology where cloud computing is very important. Microsoft Cloud Skills Training will serve as the first step in moving them forward. Corporate Technology Limited will provide career counseling facilities to all the trainees. So that they can work equally at home and abroad.
