Due to Corona pandemic situations, most of the programs are now going virtually. In this case, the use of the video conferencing app Zoom is increasing rapidly. In this context, the Department of Information and Communication Technology has created a video conferencing app called ‘Boithok’ in the form of a zoom app.
The beta version of ‘Boithok’ was officially released and handed over for use by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday. Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen was present as the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Speaking as the chief guest, the Foreign Minister said, “Connectivity has increased in everything in Bangladesh. We are now focusing on IT connectivity as well.” IT will create new entrepreneurs in the country through very strong connectivity, will also create more employment. The conferencing app ‘Boithok’ will be a shining example of the software sector in Bangladesh.
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak said in his speech as s special guest at the event that ‘Boithok’ video conferencing platform is a new milestone in self-reliant digital Bangladesh.
“It is not possible to ensure the security of information using foreign platforms like Zoom or WebX,” he said.
He added that the “Boithok” platform is hosted in our own national data sector. As a result, all the videos and information that I am sharing in the meeting are on our own ground in Bangladesh.
Ziaul Alam, Senior Secretary, Department of Information and Communication Technology, Masood Bin Momen, Senior Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs, Parthapratim Dev, Executive Director, BCC and Additional Secretary of ICT Department Bikarna Kumar Ghosh were also present on the occasion.
